Haha, I own a 68 Mercury Montego MX which happens to have a Ford 302/5.0L V8 in it. No Mustangs here!

I'm not a fan boi for either, but I tend to lean more towards Ford.

Nope, I'm the first year of the 302. And you can swap parts from Mustangs all the way into the 90s onto it. Bolt on. No questions asked lol.
